Hello Smith's Olde Blog readers!

I just got word from headquarters that this Saturday night is gonna be even bigger and better than we could have imagined! Originally - the lineup, which was already full of badassness - consisted of: Gary Pfaff and the Heartwells, Crowfield and Levi Lowery

It just got better!

Gary Pfaff invited a couple friends for the night! So who do you think you might be seeing on stage?

Coy Bowles (of Coy Bowles and the Fellowship) will be playing keys and guitar all night! Members of the Zac Brown Band will be joining Gary & the Hearwells during the night! Possibly guest appearance by Sonia Leigh? We hear she'll be at the show - so you never know!

Let us know what you think!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 9 – FIVE EIGHT, AUTHORS APOLOGY, YOUNG ANTIQUES, HOLY LIARS

Athens, GA pop-punk trio FIVE EIGHT has been rocking socks off since the late 80’s. Jumping over every imaginable hurdle a band can (drugs, deaths, label deals gone south). After all the bouncing around, they’ve come back better, louder, and stronger. The proof is in their live shows - and if you don’t believe us ask one of their recent tour mates - R.E.M.

Doors at 8 p.m. // $10 adv. // $12 at door // www.myspace.com/fiveeight

TUESDAY, JANUARY 13 // THE SPRING STANDARDS and JEFF TAYLOR

3-piece harmonies, swinging rock n’ roll and a nice little country twist. That’s what you should expect from NYC’s THE SPRING STANDARDS. Recently appearing on Conan O’Brien, the Spring Standards on tour with Brooklyn based experimental musician – JEFF TAYLOR. This is one of those “Hot Ticket” shows and you should get yours today!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 17 // HAMELL ON TRIAL

~ in the Atlanta Room ~

Tenacious D meets Bill Hicks. An angry story telling musician, filled with dark humor and plenty of insightful commentary about every day life. Ed Hamell, the mastermind behind HAMMEL ON TRIAL, has toured extensively with Ani DiFranco, is once again taking his one-man theatrical show on the road. Make sure you’re here when he does!

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21 // PJ MORTON, JIMI CRAVITY

Songwriter, producer and musical prodigy are all acceptable titles on PJ MORTON’S business card. The Grammy-award winner has worked with an array of musicians including India Arie, Jermaine Dupree and Musiq Soulchild – just to name a few. Influenced at a young age by The Beatles and James Taylor, PJ MORTON describes his own genre as somewhere between Stevie Wonder and Sting – and we like the sound of that!
