Let us know what you think!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 9 – FIVE EIGHT, AUTHORS APOLOGY, YOUNG ANTIQUES, HOLY LIARS

Athens, GA pop-punk trio FIVE EIGHT has been rocking socks off since the late 80’s. Jumping over every imaginable hurdle a band can (drugs, deaths, label deals gone south). After all the bouncing around, they’ve come back better, louder, and stronger. The proof is in their live shows - and if you don’t believe us ask one of their recent tour mates - R.E.M.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 13 // THE SPRING STANDARDS and JEFF TAYLOR

3-piece harmonies, swinging rock n’ roll and a nice little country twist. That’s what you should expect from NYC’s THE SPRING STANDARDS. Recently appearing on Conan O’Brien, the Spring Standards on tour with Brooklyn based experimental musician – JEFF TAYLOR. This is one of those “Hot Ticket” shows and you should get yours today!

~ in the Atlanta Room ~

Tenacious D meets Bill Hicks. An angry story telling musician, filled with dark humor and plenty of insightful commentary about every day life. Ed Hamell, the mastermind behind HAMMEL ON TRIAL, has toured extensively with Ani DiFranco, is once again taking his one-man theatrical show on the road. Make sure you’re here when he does!

Mark our words - 2009 will be the year of JESSICA TONDER. Jessica’s intoxicating vocals and bounce-worthy beats will be dominating everybody’s “favorite play-lists” in no time. Her recently released debut full-length, “The Robot and the Little Girl,” is neatly packed with 9 musical gems that have been getting a tremendous response from the online community across the board. Kicking off her East Coast tour at Smith’s Olde Bar, Jessica Tonder shares the stage with two amazing acts - the soulful New Jersey trio LIKE TRAINS & TAXIS and Chicago’s Latin/pop group ALLA.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21 // PJ MORTON, JIMI CRAVITY

Songwriter, producer and musical prodigy are all acceptable titles on PJ MORTON’S business card. The Grammy-award winner has worked with an array of musicians including India Arie, Jermaine Dupree and Musiq Soulchild – just to name a few. Influenced at a young age by The Beatles and James Taylor, PJ MORTON describes his own genre as somewhere between Stevie Wonder and Sting – and we like the sound of that! Atlanta local sing-songwriter JIMI CRAVITY kicks it off with his musical storytelling tunes.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 25 // THE WOES and LITTLE TYBEE

Smith’s Olde Bar hosts a night of gypsy folk with NYC’s THE WOES. Combining New Orleans big band horns with banjos and punk, the Woes sound like Gogol Bordello fronted by Tom Waits high on bluegrass. LITTLE TYBEE, formerly The Brock Scott Quartet and winners of the 2007 Open Mic Madness, start the night out with fresh tunes ready to impress audiences and win over hearts across the board!
